31 Ways to Waste Time - Day 26

Today's time-wasting amusement is Snail Bob 2 which I just spent 25 minutes playing. At level 15 I felt guilty enough to get back to work. Here's the basic plot. Snail Bob is reading the morning paper when he realizes it's Grandpa Snail's birthday.

So he packs up a gift and heads off to Grandpa Snail's house.

But lo and behold, the forest it is filled with dangers.

Like grubs that want to make Snail Bob Soup.

A nasty vulture that wants to carry Snail Bob off to some terrible fate for breaking an egg.

And the amusing Venus Fly-traps that want to devour poor Snail Bob.

The game is extremely kid-friendly, and is an awesome way to develop problem-solving skills that require quick-thinking. In fact, Thing2 (having passed the Xbox controller to Thing1) is on his dad's laptop right now trying to get past level 15. I think he plans to count it as part of today's home school lesson. Maybe it could...if he'll agree to squeak out an essay that chronicles his adventures.

Today's way to waste time doesn't require you to be a genius, just to think like one. That's because the way to waste time is taking an intelligence test online.

I got 23 out of a possible 33. With that kind of score I'll be pushing my way into the Midvale School for the Gifted before you know it!
